Il s’agit également de la 12ème conférence des enseignants et du 9ème sommet des jeunes du réseau IEARN qui oeuvre pour le renforcement de l’éducation par les TIC. Thème : "Populations, problématiques de l’éducation et TIC"
"Dakar 2005 connecting people in education" is the 12th teacher conference and the 9th youth summit. This is the first and unique opportunity for French speaking West African countries to elucidate issues regarding the use of internet in education, to raise awareness at the political level, to promote political and institutional mobilization, to develop action in order to reach the IEARN objective : “Connecting Youth...Making a difference in the world”. Using Internet to connect youth will meet one of the objectives of the New Partner at Development ( NEPAD).
The conference objectives are :
Share and exchange experiences ;
Facilitate communication between and develop partnership between educators and youth locally, regionally and globally
Use communication technology in education to improve health and welfare among communities.
Improve skills for better quality in education.
Establish institutional links among all partners of education.
Strengthen understanding of people for better education ;
Support E-learning and professional development.
Develop and prospect Pedagogical contents in African countries
This event will be a meeting for students and teachers but it “will require partnership with public and private entities, and such partnership has already started will still be actively sought in the months to come”.
